Frequently Asked Questions
Do I still need to see a Dentist?
Yes! Preferably you would still see your dentist for exams and required x-rays. This frequency is determined by your dentist.
A dental hygiene assessment is completed at your appointments with me, but I cannot diagnose. cavities. Any concerning findings can be communicated to your dentist.
Are your services covered by my insurance?
Yes!, Most insurances accept dental hygiene billing codes. I can also direct bill to many insurance companies.
What equipment do you have?
I have a mobile unit that has suction, water, and a connection for a polisher. I also have a mobile ultrasonic scaler, and an ultrasonic cleaner for dentures. Once set up, I am able to provide the same dental hygiene cleanings you have in an office! I have a separate location with a sterilization room where I reprocess all my instruments.
How often do I need to see a Dental Hygienist
This is determined by your individual needs.. As we age, our manual dexterity often decreases which then increases the recommended frequency.. Other factors, such as medications play a role. Many medications affect your salivary production leading to dry mouth and increased plaque/tartar buildup.
